Rainbow Fall, red course, 6.1km straight line. Signed up for blue, but was glad to have the option of just doing red. Its been a while since I've O'ed, and I was a bit concerned about the Achilles. It was a bit sore to squeeze, but it felt fine on the warm up. Ran quite conservative and felt rusty in the first few controls. Going to 4 I couldn't connect the map to the terrain and went to the wrong hill/spur with a pit, was quite good from there until going to 14, where I completely blanked were I was after someone asked me what course I was on (they were clearly lost). I ignored them, but it was enough to break my concentration. Fortunately, I quickly recovered. At the start/finish I was told to continue onto blue it was going to be another 5-6 km, given I'd already ran 7km, I didn't feel up to making it the rest of the way. Probably lost 30sec in making the decision. An OK run, fun to get out and was relieved when my Achilles was not painful at all.
