after the plumber left and water was restored, I tackled the floor again, first with a hammer and chistle to avoid more holes int he pipe, and then with the jackhammer one I was far enough away from the water pipes.
I am finished this evening after the effort. a 1.8 kg hammer is HEAVY.
So now I have found the problem, Rotor rooter are going to have to come and unblock the drain, and then I can fill in the hole and practice my tiling skills.
next weekends job...
