WA Sprint Champs at Carine SHS. Spent about 30 seconds walking slowly out of the start trying to work out a way through all the barriers to number 1 before giving up and finding a simple route around the outside. The route I ended up taking was good but I took way too long trying to work out where you could get through on the direct approach. Felt very slow through the first map, worrying too much about getting caught out by barriers when it was actually reasonably straightforward. Felt more like I was racing through the second and third maps until I hit the locked gate at 21. Hadrien was on the other side and told me he climbed it so I followed suit and only lost 10-15 seconds. Finished 3rd about 2 minutes behind Sten and Aldo. Would have been a minute behind Hadrien if he had remembered to go to the last control.

Out and back on the railway trail from Darlington tennis club during the first set of Liam's doubles match. Tried to do some a bit faster to remind myself how to before the sprint champs. Made a bit of an effort to match Matt's parkrun time from the morning but came up a second short (long?) again.

Monday night pennants with Rhett and Ian H against Claremont at Floreat.
Very rusty. I was actually hitting the ball pretty well in the warm up but didn't maintain that into the first doubles with Ian. Just starting to find my range a bit in the last couple of games but we still lost 0-4 0-4.
Reasonably happy with how I played in the singles and had a lot of good rallies but Kevin was just too good for me at this stage. Back started to seize up in my last service game but only lasted for a few points. Lost 2-4 0-4.
Final doubles with Rhett was similar to the singles. Played some good points but they were just too good for us. Lost 2-4 0-4 again.
Ian H had a good battle with Ben in the final singles, finally getting up 3-4 4-1 4-3.
Got home around 11pm and set the alarm for 5:30am so I can take kids to Tuesday afternoon sport but was woken up by a faulty smoke alarm at 3:30am.
