Orienteering race 18:12 intensity: (1:42 @2) + (3:39 @3) + (12:04 @4) + (47 @5) 2.7 km (6:45 / km) +40m 6:17 / km

Relays at Christmas Tree Creek, Leg 2, Course 4.
Steady run. Went out about 5 minutes behind Tim Sharp (with Sten) and Simon Windsor (Hadrien). Saw Tim coming back into 8? as I was leaving and then punched the next one with Liam (who had gone out a minute after me but on a very different course). Right behind Simon at 12 but he had a shorter finish so came in 38 seconds ahead of me. Apparently Isaac was faster than me through the first half of the course before making a couple of mistakes, including skipping a control. He set out about 1 minute after me on the same course so I guess he could see me ahead at times but still impressive.

Orienteering race 17:03 intensity: (53 @1) + (1:02 @2) + (1:46 @3) + (12:52 @4) + (30 @5) 2.65 km (6:26 / km) +29m 6:06 / km

Relays Leg 4, Course 2.
Set out 5 minutes behind Simon again but Tim and Liam were now 5 minutes behind me. I tried to push this one a bit harder as I knew I hadn't quite made up the gap last time. Pretty clean again but just a little scrappy on one or two controls in the harder section. Saw Simon ahead on the final loop again and suspected we had opposite finishes to last time so knew I had some chance of closing the gap. I tried to be a little more aggressive into the control on the spur and back through the Patterson's curse to the last and then push hard up the hill to the finish. When I came over the hill I could see Simon heading into the finish and thought the gap was too big but tried a final sprint anyway. I got closer than I expected but couldn't quite get there, finishing one second behind. I was happy to see Hadrien and Simon get the win anyway and Liam got past Tim on the final leg to give BO the podium sweep, which was my goal when organising the teams.

Short warm up with Liam while waiting for Matt to arrive.

Running 21:58 intensity: (29 @1) + (2:59 @2) + (8:50 @3) + (9:39 @4) + (1 @5) 5.01 km (4:23 / km) +3m 4:22 / km

Started out with Matt but we lost him after a bit of overtaking just before the turn and started to pick the pace up a bit after that. Kept increasing the pace a bit every time we had to surge to overtake a group. At about 3k the guy just in front increased his pace quite a bit. I hadn't really wanted to go that fast but I couldn't really allow him to run away from us so had to push quite hard the rest of the way to stay with him and then make sure he didn't attempt a repass when we eventually got past. I was pretty close to my limit for the last 2k but Liam had plenty left and put 25 seconds on me in the last km.

Cycling 29:22 intensity: (21:53 @1) + (5:34 @2) + (1:53 @3) + (2 @4) 6.99 km (14.3 kph) +40m
ahr:102 max:146

Ride into Subi with Liam and Amy for lunch. Had a cyclist coming the other way abuse us for blocking the whole path as he rode through the red light at Station St. I was only on the right hand side because I had to go over there to press the button for the lights and I had backed up to give him room to pass when I saw him coming. When he started to speak I was actually expecting him to say thank you.
