Reasonably clean run but felt a bit rusty. A bit inefficient on 3 and 10 because I kind of lost contact mid leg so didn't get the best lines at the end going through some rocks I could have avoided. Contoured around from 14-15 because the rock surfaces were so slippery I didn't want to risk running down. The rest of the course was very physical and a bit boring. Felt as though it was uphill all the way from 15 to the finish.I lost a little time at 26 checking the tiny gully just East of the control. Crossed paths with Liam on the way up to 27 and thought he was probably heading more directly to the finish but when I finished he came in a couple of seconds after me. He had been able to see me from his last control so ran his 520m finish leg at 3:39/km trying to catch me.

I'd been awake for a couple of hours so thought I might as well get up and run with the Rosalie group. Ran with Nic and John down through UWA but let them go when it started to feel a bit hard up the hills into KP and I could feel my Achilles a bit. Stayed at the back after the restart but was feeling reasonably good by the end.

Nearly didn't go out as I wasn't feeling very motivated when I got home from work but nobody else was home so I had nothing else to do. Felt quite good from the start after a very light week so I think I'm fully recovered from the half marathon now. I thought I might struggle a bit towards the end after no sleep last night and nothing to eat since breakfast but I was still feeling good in the warm down. The pace might look slower in the second set but I think that is just because I changed direction so the GPS error is less favorable. 8:10 for the first 2k set and 8:23 for the second.
No Achilles or calf soreness at all.
