Little jog through the parks around Bullcreek tennis club while waiting for Liam's match to start. Had a little sore patch again, like last time, but it was about 5 minutes in this time.
Liam started well but lost his composure after a few errors and ended up losing 4-2 4-3(4).

A more serious ride in KP this time, with a couple of laps of tRicky's figure 8 loop from the DNA tower to keep me motivated. I think I managed to beat his slowest ever time on the first lap but I was a bit faster on the second.

On the first lap I felt something scratchy and itchy inside my shirt. At first I thought it was a rough seam or a leaf, then I started to worry that it might be a bee so tried to look. Eventually spotted something that looked like a wasp so thought I'd better stop and get it out so I stopped near the bottom of Forrest and carefully took my shirt off. Saw the wasp fly away and I don't think it ever stung me, just scratchy feet, so put my shirt back on and got going again.

Walked over to Rosalie Park and jogged a few laps of the lower ovals. Achilles got a bit sore after a couple of minutes but then eased off again. So far feeling fine afterwards.

Cycling 32:12 intensity: (4 @0) + (18:55 @1) + (7:44 @2) + (3:09 @3) + (2:00 @4) + (20 @5) 9.97 km (18.6 kph) +101m

Rode over to KP to try to find the rest of the family. Just got there in time to see them run off so rode around looking for them. Found Rachel and Amy just as they were finishing so followed them in to have breakfast at Zamia for Liam's birthday. Between my run and trying to get my new bike functioning I hadn't actually seen Liam before this.
Front derailleur still needs some adjustment and I think I need a shorter stem but at least the brakes worked.

Gym 40:00 [3]

Pump with CC. Enjoyed it more than usual today, probably because I haven't been able to do much else. Jogged about half way there and back. A bit sore but not unbearable. Could probably try a short jog around the ovals.

Note

Went to see Cam Johnson last night (first time in about 6 years) about my achilles. It had improved even more throughout the day so Cam was very confident there was no serious damage. I even managed 10 single leg calf raises and a bit of hopping without too much pain.
I like Cam's approach, don't bother with any specific strengthening exercises, just start running again but without all the stupid mistakes you made in the last couple of weeks.

Cycling 44:21 intensity: (7 @0) + (27:25 @1) + (13:53 @2) + (2:51 @3) + (5 @4) 14.11 km (19.1 kph) +140m
ahr:110 max:151 (injured)

Not quite feeling up to trying a run this morning so went for a ride around KP instead. Wasn't too bad but I hope it will be a bit more enjoyable when I finally get a new bike to replace my stolen road bike. The thief's old MTB is ok for rolling 1km to work and back but not great for longer rides, particularly going downhill with no back brakes and dodgy front brakes. I really should work out how to adjust the front brakes before going out again.

(injured)

Can walk pretty much normally today. It still hurts to do that but nothing like yesterday. Single leg calf raise is tolerable but doesn't feel like a good thing to be doing.

Note
(injured)

Achilles is stuffed. Can't walk normally without severe pain and no chance of doing a single leg calf raise on the right leg.
