Kind of intended to go for a run today but never thought about how I would fit it in with Rachel's race in the morning. At about 5pm I remembered I hadn't done anything and didn't feel like trying to run so thought I would go for a bit of a roll around on the bike.
Rather unenthused to begin with and couldn't get a sensible reading from the heart rate monitor so I took it very easy on the way down to Tawarri. When the heart rate monitor did start working the heart rate was mostly below 100 so I started putting in a bit more effort on the way back. Still surprised how low the heart rate was compared to my previous ride and last night's run so I did a couple of hills in KP on the way home that I had previously thought would push my heart rate too high.

Medium course at Wanneroo metro series. Heart twitchy all day so tried to be relaxed at the start and take it out very slowly. Thought I was taking it very easy but still had to walk quite often to keep the heart rate under 140. Heart still a bit twitchy throughout the run and had some very short runs of faster beats after finishing but after half an hour or so it settled down. All quiet for the last 4 or 5 hours which is about the longest it has been quiet all week.

Rode around the bridges, over the narrows first and then back over the causeway. Tried to catch up to a small group that had just come past me in south perth but by the time I latched on my heart rate was 150 so I had to drop off again. Made the same mistake again on the way home with a single rider. This time I thought I would tack on straight away to avoid the surge but he was going faster than the group so my heart rate hit 150 pretty quickly anyway. Riding back under the narrows with a good tailwind I got over 30km/h which felt very fast compared to my usual pace.

I had wanted to run but the heart was feeling twitchy before getting up. The ride was mostly ok but I did hit 170 about 10 minutes after finishing.

Cycling 41:12 [2] 15.0 km (21.8 kph)

Gentle ride down to Tawarri and back with Rachel. Did an extra lap on the Esplanade despite the yellow peril assembling near Tawarri. Heart rate mostly around 110-115 with a max around 123 but got to 154 with a little dizzy spell a few minutes after finishing.

Walked and jogged over to Rosalie Park and was about to cross into Kings Park when my heart told me not to. Spent about 20 minutes playing around in the trees on the East side of Rosalie Park walking up the gentle slope and running down it so I at least got to experience a little bit of what I like about running.

Tennis 45:00 [1]

Singles with Rachel on the grass courts at Onslow Park. One set and a bit more random hitting, even more random than the one set.
