Running long 2:15:00 [2]
shoes: Adizero Boston

Getting a few ectopics when I got up so wasn't sure about doing this run but thought I should at least try and didn't end up having any problems.
Out Atkins Rd, back through the gauntlet to Martin Rd, Little Possums, rehab area and out to Strettle reserve.
Avoided looking at the time until I got to Strettle Reserve and was disappointed to find it was only 1:35 so had to do a full lap of Strettle then out O'Connor Rd and home. Surprising how unfamiliar O'Connor Rd is given how often I run past the end of it. Felt a lot longer than the 2 hour run last week even though I probably covered a similar distance.

Running 28:43 intensity: (25:43 @2) + (2:00 @3) + (1:00 @5)

Drills and strides at Glenburn Rd. Calves a bit tight but felt pretty good doing the strides.

Running intervals 1:04:45 intensity: (6:00 @1) + (1:43 @2) + (22:13 @3) + (12:30 @4) + (22:19 @5) 14.2 km (4:34 / km) +59m 4:28 / km
shoes: Adizero Ace

2 x (2k @ 10k pace, 90s, 1k @ 5k pace, 90s).
Ran from Cuthbert St over to McGillivray to do some intervals on the grass. Lost satellites for a while early on which lost about 2-300m but warm up was about 4km in 20min.
No 1k track marked but I ran about where it used to be and it was coming out very close to 1k on the GPS. Mostly good surface but it was a bit rough around the N end of the footy ovals.
Felt pretty comfortable on the first 2k effort but my heart started playing up as soon as I stopped. Felt good starting the 1k effort but got bad about 200m in and I came very close to pulling the pin. Decided to keep going for a while and see if it got worse but it actually got a bit better. Heart definitely still a bit erratic for the rest of the session but getting enough good beats in to be able to run the pace I was aiming for so I did complete the session.
2k @ 3:46, 1k @ 3:35, 2k @ 3:47, 1k @ 3:31
Felt a bit similar to Bridges fun run where I couldn't hold 4min/km so still encouraging despite the problems. Wasn't surprised to have problems this time as it had been keeping me awake at 4:30am.
Heart came good fairly early in the run home so I did most of it at about marathon pace.

Note

Checked the gps trace again and it seems I got down to 3:18/km near the end of my warm down so perhaps it was a little faster than marathon pace.

Easy 5k loop. A little stiff in right achilles and knee to begin with but felt quite good overall.
