Note
(rest day)

EP Study at SCGH.
Got to the hospital at 7:30am but somebody else went in ahead of me so I just lay in bed until about 2:45pm. Now I know why they call me "patient".
All went about as expected.
The good news is they did an ablation which should fix my atrial flutter.
The bad news is they couldn't do an ablation to fix my main problem which is atrial fibrillation.
I have been given a prescription for 50mg of flecainide twice a day to control the fibrillation. I'm not sure yet if this is good or bad news.
No running at all for 6-7 days to allow the 4 puncture wounds in the groin to heal and nothing strenuous before doing an exercise stress test in 10-12 days.

Running 1:12:26 intensity: (57:26 @2) + (15:00 @4) 14.15 km (5:07 / km) +250m 4:42 / km
shoes: Nike Pegasus Black

Decided I needed to get in one last decent training session before going under the knife so I forced myself out into the cold and dark at 6:30am. Out to Little Possums via rehab area and back via Martin Rd. Found myself running hard back up the hill from the power line and felt pretty good so kept it going all the way home.

Running 24:16 [3] 5.0 km (4:51 / km) +80m 4:30 / km
shoes: Nike Free 3.0

Almost had another day off but decided I needed to do something this week so did a slightly quicker than normal lap of the 5k loop in the new shoes. A few aches and pains from the feet and achilles on the way out but they didn't last long. Legs feeling pretty good on the way back despite the tachycardia starting at about the 9:30 mark.

Note
(rest day)

Vaguely considered trying to do a long run this morning but didn't really make a plan so of course it didn't happen.
Bought some new Nike Free 3.0s and thought about trying an afternoon run to test them out but each time I thought about it I had a short burst of tachycardia so I didn't bother.

Felt good running from the back door to the lemon tree.
