Tennis 30:00 [1]

Tried to play a match with Liam but we only got through one set before it ended in tears again. He was up 2-0 and had me in trouble again at 30-30 on my serve when he got really upset after what he had decided was a bad call. The most ridiculous thing is that it was his call! We played out the set but he had completely lost the plot so I won it 4-2.

Green ball with Liam. I find it amazing how much Liam wants to play tennis all the time given how miserable he seems to be whenever he plays with me. Non stop whingeing and close to tears for the whole hour today.

Don't want to risk the repeated accelerations of a sprint event so just went for a steady run around KP. Still didn't feel great, pain maybe 3-4/10 and fairly constant throughout the run.

Early run down through UWA and back. A bit more sore than the last few runs and quite variable but not too bad overall. Maybe ranging from 1-4/10 but mostly nearer 1. Thought I was taking it pretty easy but started to feel a bit tired running across Riley Oval on the way back.

Little hit with Liam before work to help him prepare for his consolation semi final at 10am. He didn't seem to need the warm up, running me to both corners before finishing off with a winner in the first rally. Need to play another match against him soon as it won't be long before I don't stand a chance.

Short run in KP after work. Very nearly didn't do this after staying at work later than planned because I was waiting for the rain to stop before riding home. Wasn't so bad once I got out the door. Pain free at the start and end, just a little sore in the middle.

Easy run from Bailey Rd up to O'Connor Rd with Rachel, then turned and ran back into Glen Forrest by myself. Stopped near the oval when I noticed I had ticked over 6km. Pain ~1/10, surprisingly good considering run and tennis yesterday.

Easy run in KP with Rachel. With orthotics again. Decided yesterday that the orthotics would fix me up so started making plans to build back up to running every day. May have been a bit premature as it was a bit sore today. Did ease off enough by the end that I wanted to do an extra lap around the block to make it up to 5k/30min.

Club champs mixed doubles with Rachel against Brad and Olivia. Thought we would get thrashed but it was a really good fun match and we managed to pinch the first set. Pretty happy with how I played but could feel I was tiring a bit by the end of the second. Went down 6-4 4-6 1-6.

Dug the old orthotics out from the back of the wardrobe and tested them on a couple of laps around Rosalie Park. Heel didn't feel too bad, pain maybe 3/10 compared to about 8/10 for the last couple of runs. Slightly disappointed with that as I hate running with the orthotics. Checked the bottom of my shoe a couple of times at the start to see if something was stuck to the outsole before realising it would be the orthotics. Sort of getting used to them by the end.

Little hobble over to Saw Ave and back. Too sore to go any further.

Quick and painful spin around KP after work mostly on sand tracks. Sore enough that I was thinking of turning back as I ran across Rosalie Park on the way out but I decided to embrace the pain and go harder instead. Kept hurting all the way but otherwise felt pretty good. Stopped hurting as soon as I stopped running, feels fine just walking around.

Ride around KP. Was going to just do a lap around the outside but after rolling down the hill near the river I felt compelled to turn around and ride back up it for some reason.

Short run in KP after work. Achilles ok at the start but got pretty sore over a fairly short period after around 3-4 minutes. Gradually eased off or got used to it for the rest of the run and stopped hurting as soon as I stopped running. Felt reasonably good apart from the pain.
