Liverpool Cross Challenge - 75th

Bad day at the office. Unsurprising given state of the body but still frustrating. Got out fast but still about where I wanted to be. Started feeling very guffy during the first muddy section. Dropped a shit load of places towards the end of the first lap. Very nearly dropped out. Luckily just about managed to compose myself and latch onto a group with Gav Smith and Callum Phillip/Tharme around me. Stuck there for the remainder of the race but just felt like I was bumbling round waiting for the finish to come, no aggression and not at the races. Finished around some solid lads still but a good 40sec-1min down on where I wanted to be.

Need to sort this guffma out. No more hard running until it’s cleared off.

Positives: mentally stronger than my former self - would have 100% dropped out in years gone bye.

Humbling.

Some grassy HP laps then some strides along the canal. Seem to have a lingering infection. Feel ok but just not 100%. Hoping can just caffein/drug up pre-Liverpool then sort out properly after.

Weekend has absolutely smacked the body. Have been feeling extremely run down and not really managed to get enough sleep the last couple of nights. As a result body has felt very flat and groggy. Decided to do this but keep it chill. Stuck to the plan of 25mins. Felt fine but definitely tougher than it should feel for that pace. Will take this extremely easy leading into Liverpool. Luckily working from home for the remainder of the week so should be able to get some more rest.
