Easy 70 round bridleway and fields. Didn’t want to go any long as got race on Wednesday. Couple of very short and easy days coming up. Will most likely take a week off running after the race.

Surprisingly decent one as have felt a bit spangled from work the last few days. Nice bit of shoe doping got me through with some zesty splits. Did this session a week before running 14:37, hit quicker splits this time but weather was grim back then and wasn’t shoe doping. Still encouraging signs.

Easy miles in some pleasant drizzle. Calves really tight from spikes yesterday. Could feel foot but wasn’t really an issue. Felt reasonable otherwise.

This was well hard. Motivation hasn’t been overly high since coming back from the states. Really didn’t feel up for this. Aimed for 5k pace on the mile reps then take off a second per lap for each set. First mile rep felt hard. Threw my toys out the pram a little bit and almost sacked it in. But stopped being a pussy and just got on with it. Controlled the next mile rep more of a threshy type effort. Then the rest of the splits were solid for the short recoveries. Spiked up for the whole thing. Not bad for the first bit of faster stuff in about a month. Not where I want to be but still think I should race in the coming weeks as it’s probs a good thing to test myself when not 100% there.
