Long run with Mason and Olivia for the first 10 miles, then last 6 miles solo and picked it up a bit. Much cooler than last few days which was nice, legs quite heavy though. Class day watching most of the conference finals. Time for a beverage.

3rd 110km week. Now just going to run whatever mileage makes my legs feel good and start to do some spicier sessions. Think will have a 5k on the roads in 2 weeks followed by a couple of track boys.

Solo job out on the trail. Already pretty hot at this time (24 degrees) so went for this over the straight 8mile tempo as reckoned it would be a little less grim. Had to really try and keep a lid on things as felt close to overheating. Didn’t feel amazing after a day out in the sun yesterday and not much sleep, but kept it controlled and consistent. Happy just to get her done. Training not straining.

Out on the trail with the boys. 30 degrees out made this a real slog, also for some unknown reason the lads were pushing the pace. Kept up for the chat but didn’t feel particularly easy. Still good fun though, in a bucket of sweat by the end. Will double probably on the treddy later to avoid the heat.

Easy treadmill doublé. Too hot to run outside. Moving shit about all day so pretty goosed but honestly wasn’t as bad as anticipated. Got a stitch and had to take a little break, felt/looked like a massive punter.

Stupidly hot and humid. Maybe the hottest session I’ve ever done, 28 degrees at the start of the session. Also compounded by the fact that all other sessions up to this point have been 12 degrees or less so was a massive shock to the system. Got told to aim for 2:22 as an average but after the first rep, knew it was unsustainable especially with the short recovery. Had to take 5 at half way as was really flagging. Watch in the back pocket from then on and just aimed to finish the job. Very very slow but honestly just happy to get through it in those conditions. Was looking very ropey towards the end. Not reading anything into the splits as they were basically tempo pace for the most part, but the effort was most definitely there.
