Went for a covid test after training because didn’t feel comfortable exercising indoors around people considering I had a “cold”. Turns out this was a good decision as I do in fact have covid. Unsure what the quarantine length is because symptoms started 2 days ago but will just wait and see what the doc says.

4 miles on the treadmill. Felt like the first proper training run. Bit congested (will explain shortly) so didn’t feel amazing but sacrum area was all good.

Another 3 miles on the treadmill. Back to back runs with very little (if any) discomfort. Good to see some definitive progress, now just need to be smart.

Pool was closed which was really annoying as only brought my swimming trunks. Decided to spin anyway, in my trunks. Discovered this cool smart bike type thing that gave power and a zwift type display. Just picked a 10mile hilly route and decided to spank it on all the climbs. HR above 170 for much of it so actually quite a solid work out. Hitting around 400W for 30sec-1min on each climb but tbh power readings could be a load of bollocks. Had the shakes after so must have been working hard.

3 miles on the treadmill. Much better compared to last run. Think treadmill is the way forward, probably all the turning on the turf isn’t good for me. Aerobically felt fine on this but heart rate was quite high. Probably just muscles working harder.

60’ aquajog with a big group. Did 10x1’ in the middle again just to add a little bit of spice. Bit bonky as only had a small breakfast up to that point. Made sure to nosh down some protein bars and a bacon, cheese and egg bagel straight after, bloody glorious.

Long aquajog with the usual crew. Chucked in 10x1min in the middle just to get the blood pumping a bit. Fairly bonked by the end as didn’t eat much before.

First full run. On the turf. Not the best feels, quite a lot of tightness in the sacrum area. May do the next few runs on the treadmill because don’t reckon the constant turning on the turf is good for me.

AJ Session: 3x4’ (1’), 3x2’ (1’), 3x30” (1:30’), 3x4’

Bit of a random one with Drew, Matt and Kenzie. Good to get some work in after a while off. Not going to the grave but still a solid enough grind.
