Felt naff from the start. Hammies almost instantly seizing up, never felt comfortable. Swimming after a km. something not right, a km in 2:50 should feel at least in control but felt I was fighting it. Pulled the plug at half way. Really disappointed.
Feel like I’ve suffered a little bit of burnout since the new year. A large amount of energy was spent trying to run fast times through winter and I think the lack of off season is just catching up with me. Don’t think anything major is wrong, just a bit of stagnation compounded by lack of motivation.
Decided to take the next 2 weeks properly chill. Then basically get back to it but make sure that most of my sessions are controlled. Will hopefully get a good block in over may and then maybe hit something in June. Then planning to take July off. Hopefully that will leave me in good stead to smash the autumn xc scene in the US.
