Shortonhall SLR with Jack, Alex, Tom and Gregor. Lovely sunny morning, very frosty, probably my favorite kind of long run weather. Really enjoyable outing. Had a bit of a cold for the last couple of days so will try and get as much rest as possible. Second 70+ km week of the year, big stuff.

Pre breakfast and didn’t eat much yesterday so was a slog all the way. Managed to keep moving we’ll despite this and surprised to get it done without completely popping. Nice pack of boys out in some high arctic conditions.

Meadows and seat lap with Jack. Pace a bit steadier than normal but still nice and chatty. Shin pinged for about 5mins, went away so no problem.

Some horrendous underfoot conditions just constant slushy mud, but all good strength training for xc. Ran the first rep ahead of the group, maybe pushing a bit hard. Felt quite shit on the second one so kept it chill, still at the front with dan. Last one turned into a bit of burn up with Dan and Carcas. Good stuff, paces nothing to write home about but I think they're respectable for the conditions.
