Easy B&B with Tom, Finn, Ali and Tim for a bit. Was a very nice chill pace. Unfortunately was a bit dark and no headtorch so had to be very careful not to twat the ankle.

Braids 2018
Started chill which put me quite far back in the pack. Worked my way up the field on the first lap. Got up to 7th by the top of the hill. Overtook a couple of people on the decent along side finlay so was in 5th. Got away from finlay around 5mins later and was by myself. Could already feel a stitch coming so tried to stay as relaxed as possible. The legs felt good but the stitch was only getting worse. Managed to get up the climb the second time around but by the top the stitch had started to affect me. Had to really hold back on the decent. lost a place to a Glasgow guy. Had to really control myself, couldn't push at all so that stitch didn't become crippling. With about 1km to go having lost probably around 20s the stitch seemed to ease so I could push again. Got into another battle with a rather fast (sub 15 5km apparently) guy. Sadly I didn't quite have the kick and got pipped on the line. So finished 7th in the end. Place and time improvement on last year (which was a very good run at the time), around 25s quicker. Just a little frustrating, I know I could have been a fair bit quicker. Still an alright performance and it shows I'm in decent form. Top Harie aswell which was nice.

Originally planned to do a lap of the seat but took ages to get satalites so Tom ran on so that Max wasn't kept waiting at KF. I hatched the cunning plan once satellites had been gained to run the other way round the seat and meet them. This went well except I didn't take into account the darkness of the seat so coming over dragons back was a bit of a minefield. Could feel shin all the way but didn't get worse. Had a meal deal fresh in the stomach aswell so feels weren't all good.

Long run round B & B. Solo for most apart from a brief couple of kms with the EUOC ladies which was nice. Chilled for the first half to see what shin was doing. It seemed fine so pressed on a little bit in the second half aswell as extending it out to 90mins. Finished feeling better than when I started which was nice.

Another good one! Not sure how this was going to go with the shin and having a bit of a cold but thought I may aswell give it a crack. Was running at the front with Carcas, Ali and Peter. Felt a little shit on the first 2 reps but with a bit of encouragement from the others I carried on. Felt better on the 3rd rep. Sadly lost Alex on the 4th (RIP) and peter started a bit further back so it was up to me to illuminate the headtorchless Masson. This was a hard task but just managed it. Last rep flew by all good with a cheeky burn up in the last minute. Then it was done. Good wan in the bag.

Easy Lunch Ride

28.5km / 26.4kph

Started with a lap of the seat then headed out to Musselburgh. Wasn't nearly as scenic as yesterdays ride but still anything is better than spinning in the gym. Just kept it chill. Wiggled my way back using cycle way signs for guidence. Will hopefully be running either later today or tommorrw (see what the physio says).
