Knew I was most likely not going to finish before I started. Probably shouldn't have started was already in a fair amount of pain on my warm up. Started, felt pretty bad from the off, struggled to 100% focus on the map and had to work really hard physically. Despite this managed to get to around half way relatively mistake free. Exit direction out of #10 was absolutely terrible so just walked to #11 then called it a day. Was around 30s off the top pace at halfway which wasn't too bad, but probably good I stopped when I did. Hopefully I'll be in some better shape for upcoming selection races.

In reflection I should probably be very happy with this. Haven’t done any sort of fast running in 6 weeks. Was just a running race absolutely died on the dead running legs. Lost 5s on spectator control which shows my pure lack of pace. Ah well hopefully be fitter for the sprint race in York

Another tester before JK sprint tomorrow. Shin better probably 75% now. Bit worried about fitness but ah well nothing I can do to change that so will just get stuck in tomorrow. Put in a couple of 10s 3:00/km surges just to remind my body what it feels like to go faster than a jog.

Grassy tester, could feel shin from the start. Never really got painful but was definitely uncomfortable. Think I can run JK sprint ok but even middle is looking unlikely:(

Post-gym spin, tried a couple of efforts but stopped because not in the right mindset. Did a couple of drills after but started to feel shin so I cut short.
