Orienteering race (BOK Trot 2016) 1:11:30 [4] 9.9 km (7:13 / km) +400m 6:01 / km

Physically tough course with lots of steep up and downs. Was a generally good race. Made 2 minute mistake on one control as a result of dodgy mapping. But the rest clean, legs a little tired need the end.....

Saturday Feb 6, 2016 #

Got massive stitch after 2km, fell from 20th to dead last. Finally after 2km of walking/jogging I was able to run again, managed to gain 4 places in last 2km so finished 53rd so very disappointing.....3 minutes slower than of I hadn't got a stitch, weather conditions were awful with heavy rain and 40mph winds....

Pushed hard for the 3km uphill stretch, relaxed on most of the flats, then stretched legs on last 2km flat section averaging 3:45min/km

Did this just to put some speed in the legs for the weekend.
Felt a bit rusty, but did a couple of good 800m stretches a 3:20min/km pace, but was careful not to push too hard...
