Cycle from Truro to Holywell

20.6km (20.7kph)

Finally got the green light to start cycling. Been told to keep it very chill so ideally looking for a flat route. Unfortunately, Cornwall has no flat, just constant rolling hills. I ended up picking an especially hilly route. Just banged it in the small ring and kept things as chill as possible on the climbs. Really nice to be outside again and got nothing from the Sacrum so reckon I'm good to go with the cycling.

Nothing special. First half was solid but then got chatting to a fellow slow lane user. Quite interesting chat so meant mind got taken off the session a little bit. More of a steady effort in the second half. All solid work though.

Hour aqua jog on my lonesome. Time went past fairly quickly, definitely better doing it in a 50m pool. Knee weirdly a bit fugged but decided it’s impossible to get injured aquajogging so we move.

Oh dear this week is not shaping up to be a particularly fruitful one. Did this at Bath Uni, much better pool, 50m and 2m deep the whole way. Due to financial constraints could only book an hour and turned up late again so 50’ was all I got. Going to message physio and ask if I can start cycling because going to be hard to get the hours in otherwise. On a plus note, think I’m slowly coming out of this illness.

Bit of a nightmare. Pool too busy to aqua jog properly so kept letting in the way of people. Also session was only an hour and we were late. Also pool is very shallow so could only use a small area. Still feeling ill aswell so just an all round nightmare. Will attempt to find a more aqua jogging friendly pool.

Nice AJ with Drew, Mike, Max and Kenzie. Fairly hungover, didn’t drink enough water. 9 day bender come to a close tonight, then flying home tomorrow. Happy I managed to do something this week, but will start the monster xtrain grind next week. It’s been real.

Hello everyone, I’m back. Had a good couple of weeks of doing sweet fuck all. Hip obviously not close to being better but that’s just how stressys are. Was worried this may aggravate it but all good so got the green light to start smashing it again. Probs do an hour a day this week then up it to 90 a day next week.

4 more weeks on crutches. Then will be walking around for 2 weeks. Then fingers crossed can slowly start building back the running 6 weeks from now (which should be just after Xmas). Obviously will have to play it live but think I’ve been quite smart so hopefully the recovery will be decent. The build back up to mileage will be fairly long (10-12 weeks) but then that will still give me a month or 2 of proper running training which may allow me to have a decent outdoor track season (so long as I put the base work in now).

Ok turns out I have2 more stress fractures in my pelvis. Bloody brilliant. Not allowed to do any cross training for 2 weeks. Now this is officially quite grim.

Got and MRI. Stress fracture on my Sacrum. Going to be a long road back unfortunately. Seeing doc tomorrow to get a plan put together and work out just how long I’ll be out.
