Nominal 5.0km, 120m ascent

Nice area to run in (and well mapped), apart from the bogs which I got trapped in a couple of times.

Generally heading in the right direction, although: Around and about for #1, #4, #6. Overran #9 inamongst a million little pits and looped around, turned too early into the wrong copse for #11 and that's where I wasted most time, annoying. Distracted by paths for #12 and went too far R. Off the path too soon for #13. Pretty good for the last 10 controls (IMHO!). 86th is still not great, although I enjoyed this more than yesterday.

Nominal 3.3k shortest route

Rather poor navigation for the first half - lost #4 inamongst the various buildings and then kept overrunning the damn controls, like a bull in a china shop. Trundled around the second half without much conviction. On previous "urban" form, a top-20 finish would've been likely, not 94th.

Chatting to M40 Stuart Ebbrell afterwards, he was showing me something that'd confused him after turning over his double-sided map and then I thought about the way he was holding it - always "north up". Going "track up" in a sprint doesn't work with a control every 40-50 seconds, I'm constantly turning the map and it's just confusing me. Back to north-up next time I think.

Good fun, although I was never going to top the table on knackered legs (64km in the last 3 days), so trundled round bagging as many as I reasonably could. Made a couple of small errors that cost me time and got 8 dumbells of 10. It might *just* have been possible to get all of them with better planning (and fresh legs!).
