A late morning ride out at Northern Farm. Did a mix of Blue and other routes at an easy pace. Explored a few new corners again.

Good clean runs by all. Horrible blackjacks. Finished 2nd and then promoted to 1st. ?

Night O sprint at Houghton Golf Course.

Started off well. Slightly left going into #4 (ridge / spur on map needs to be extended?). Seemed to struggle on the long uphill pulls (e.g. 10). Major mistake going to #13. Went left of the first dam, but then got distracted and pulled left through a forest patch. I banana-bended back to the right around the next dam, but then immediately went left again. Came to a dead stop to relocate at 3rd dam. Crappy attack angle into #13, so lost 30-45s on this leg. Thereafter a bit better again, but once again, felt sluggish and found it hard to gauge my pace / effort, especially in the night.

Finished a disappointing 5th behind Mike, Brad, Alex, Eugene.

Metrogaine race with Mac from Mindful Runner in Emmarentia.

Went west past the fire station, then clockwise around the north of the map, returning in a smaller anti-clockwise loop inside before heading back for the finish. The niggling hamstring wasn't nice but got easier during the run. Got about 1360 points with 20 points penalties for being 2 min late.

Finished about 140 pts behind Michael and Brad and 300ish ahead of Cobus and Janneke. Messed up the sequence just after the start (probably 80pts possible for just an extra 5 min) and left out another 80 on the way in had we come across the dame wall (needed 10 more mins). Am happy to be that close to the leaders, so route choice overall must have been okay.
