Note

1248 - Race cut-off. 12 of the 16 teams crossed the finish line, all with full complement of team members intact. Race went off well, with no incidents other than problems due to high water level. Kloofing was cancelled, but paddling went ahead at the high level.

1000 - Put out CPs around Majuba hill. Tough hike, with lots of climb and then lots of overgrown forest.

Trail Running 21:00 [3] 3.0 km (7:00 / km)

1800 - Putting out a CP (#51) on Stage 7. Gate locked, so had to run 1.5km along a trail to get to the building and microwave tower.

Friday Jan 30, 2009 #

0600 - Ran / hiked the 4th leg of the Uge Classic AR, putting out the CPs. This went ffrom Dunblane up Donkeys Pass and down to Engogo Riverside Lodge.

1600 - Went up and down Sak se Pad to put out a CP for Stage 2 of the race. Tough route.

1230 - Ran / hiked the first stage of the Uge Classic AR from Grootpoort to Eikenhof Farm, putting out the CPs. Had to reroute part of the course to avoid the kloofing due to flooding. Nice and scenic though.

This week is turning out to be a horror week for training. We've got the Uge Classic AR to organise this weekend and I've got 0 time for training. Putting out CPs on Thursday will have to do.
