1000 - Raced with Team Cyanosis for the Portugal XPD adventure race. We started off poorly on the 1st Roller Blading leg out of Cascais, with me falling just before the end of the leg. However, we started to make places up in the paddle across Lisbon Bay before losing them again in the next blading. From then on things improved again as we made up on the trekking and mtbing. At the end of day 1 we were lying in 5th, then 3rd after 2 days. This got as high as 2nd place before we missed a cut-off together with the other top 8 teams. This allowed a French team to get in front with an insurmountable lead. In the end we finished 5th, which although was not inside out Top 3 goal, we were still happy with. We could just have easily finished anywhere between 2nd and 7th. In hindsight, we should have just pushed on with getting a few additional CPs instead of cutting them out to make the cutoff... but who would have known? At least we had good experience for AR World Champs next year.

1700 - Roller blading along the coastal road with Team Cyanosis. Nice training. Looking forward to Portugal XPD.

1600 - Slow ride with Team Cyanosis once we had built up our bikes. From Vila Bicuda we headed down to the coast and along the coastal road. Lots of fun.

0630 - Run through Berario.

Leaving for Portugal XPD tonight. Race starts on Saturday morning. We can have a good race, strong team (Debbie, Mac, Ryan) and course design that favours navigation.
