Orienteering (Alberts Farm) 22:05 [3] ** 3.5 km (6:19 / km)
shoes: Salomon 3D Pro grey #8

0940 - Training / Charity event at Alberts Farm. Ran the Long course. Good reminder of how nice the area can be, especially in early spring when the grass is still short. Although this was a fun event, it had the best prizes in S.A. Orienteering history! For jogging around and winning the long, I won a prize of 2 movie tickets and a R200 meal voucher.

Trail Running race (Venterskroon Dome Run) 1:30:41 [4] 17.0 km (5:20 / km) +384m 4:48 / km
shoes: Salomon 3D Pro grey #8

0800 - Ran my 8th Venterkroon Dome trail race, all consecutive since 2000. The field was small due to a clash with another race in Parys, only about 90 people. The course was also shortened by about 2km from previous few years. Finished 9th in the depleted field, my best result yet. Previously 18th in 2004 (1.48.51 also PB). Hopefully they take the course back to 20km next year.

Trail Running 42:30 [3] 8.0 km (5:19 / km)
shoes: Salomon 3D Pro grey #8

1715 - Ran around Emmarentia on the old AR TT course. Time is a rough guestimate, watch didn't start.

Road Running race (Princess Crossing 10) 48:49 [3] 10.0 km (4:53 / km) +152m 4:32 / km
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 2004

1900 - 10km race from Princess Crossing. Different from last year's course... instead of a long flat one, we were taken off the plateau and thrown down intot he valleys north of Roodepoort. Lots of nasty climb on the 2nd half return, running right up the hill which we ran on last month's double lapper. I started fair at 4.30 pace, went up the hills nicely, but really felt sluggish and unmotivated over the last 3km when we were back on the flat on top. Did splits well over 5.00, but I think a km might have been long as well.

Paddling 1:01:00 [3] 10.8 km (5:39 / km)

1730 - Paddled the K2 Foxbat with Mac on Emmarentia. 9 big laps. Nice to get a bit of training in, have had a hectic meeting schedule this week.
