RUNNING (Long and Lost) 2:10:00 [4] 15.0 km (8:40 / km) +420m 7:36 / km
shoes: Highlanders

Did we get lost? Did we bollocks... well thats what we'll tell everyone.

....I mean we knew that we wern't actually going in the direction of downfall, and yes we did want to climb up that crag.

...From downfall we might have wanted to head back to Snake Inn but jsut couldn't wait to see the shining lights of Edale - who wouldn't.

Basically we got lost, very lost - we did the best technique of put the map away, "don't use a compass" and "use the peat bogs to guide us".. great stuff. Managed to do lots of running in the wrong direction.

Great day but was the most blustery conditions ever! the downfall was more like an upfall.

Getting lost rules.

CLIMBING (on 'the downfall') 20:00 [1]
shoes: Highlanders

Scrambling about on a crag which was very much like that of the downfall.

RUNNING 1:39:53 [3] 15.8 km (6:19 / km)
shoes: Highlanders

No Idea how much climb - probably a lot...

Ran from Burbage top all the way along Stanage to the 'unpopular end' of the cliffs, then back to high neb, down the route of the Struggle, up to Carhead rocks, to the Stanage Trig point, up Higgar Tor, down the plummet and back through the trees to the car.

Perfect views and saw about a million climbers too - possibly a little windy for that.

CLIMBING (Bouldering Indoors) 2:00:00 [3]
shoes: Boreal Jokers

At the works.
Managed pretty much all the Blacks (5 - 6a+) I tried, which was nice for a change. Definitely getting stronger and loving the climbing.

All I need to do now is get fit for Jukola.

CLIMBING (Bouldering) 3:40:00 [2]
shoes: Boreal Jokers

Bouldering at Les Trois Pingion - Blois Ronde - gorgeous rocks and I managed a 6a and a 6a+ in britain this seems rubbish - but to be honest most people (including us) would struggle on the 4c's!

A great end to the week!

ORIENTEERING (French Training) 45:00 [4] **** 7.85 km (5:44 / km) +85m 5:26 / km
spiked:8/12c slept:9.0 shoes: Highlanders

Orienteering in Fontainbleau.

Met up with Duncan who gave me maps of lots of bouldering areas including Blois Rond, Les Trois Pignion, Les Dames Joanne and L'elephant.

Excellent Rock Orienteering and very hot running at 2pm!

Ran next to 'Le Chien' which is a dog shaped rock in the middle of the open sand - tough running!!

ORIENTEERING warm up/down 25:00 [1]

Running up and down the track

CLIMBING (Bouldering Font Style) 1:20:00 [1]

Home from work

CLIMBING (Bouldering) 1:10:00 [2] +20m

Bouldering at Burbage North and Burbage Bridge.

Did a few V1's but not too many as I was pumped after a few. Jon managed a V3 (6a) - Wobble Block ... and he also nearly died in the process. Thank god for La Sportiva grippyness or I'd have had to have pushed him towards the mat. Phew. Gorgeous evening!
