North Ridge Nightmare 13km

Trail race in North Park. Costumes were encouraged (I didn’t wear one) and there were ‘monsters’ all around in the woods. Thought my legs were recovered enough from last weekend, but after a couple of miles I had no oomph! Practiced embracing the discomfort until I took a wrong turn. Too much following and not enough sign reading. Got back on track eventually with the help of a man dressed as a hula dancer, and still ended up going the right distance, but I lost my motivation to keep pushing. Ah well. Beautiful morning. Fun to be out on the trails with other people. Lesson re-learned: Run my own race.
