Bike - Road 5:46:41 [3] 87.2 mi (15.1 mph) +183m
shoes: Cervelo S2

Found a ~80 mi route on Strava, so much easier than attempting to plan such a long ride on only paved roads! Just forgot to account for us starting in a different location....so our planned 80 mi ride turned into 87 mi. Turned out to be a nice route. Low traffic roads and only one road was in bad shape. Weather was nice, actually a little chilly when we started, but it warmed up without ever getting too hot.

This ride felt really good. We weren't moving that fast, but it was a comfortable pace and I definitely could have kept going. Neck was super sore by the end.

Stopped a few times to check the map/short breaks
Moving pace: 16.1 mph

Bike - Mountain 59:57 [3] 9.63 mi (9.6 mph) +107m
shoes: Trek Superfly

Went to try out the singletrack at Maybury. It was fun! Seemed like quite a few roots, but there were some really fun descents. Wanted to save our legs for tomorrow, so did one loop and then checked out some of the paved trails.

Run 1:51:48 [3] 11.0 mi (10:10 / mi) +65m 9:59 / mi

Definitely not our speedist long run... Legs felt pretty good, especially compared to the last couple long runs, but they just did not want to move. Also had no sense of pace, splits were all over the place. Went by pretty quickly.

Hiking 6:48:09 [4] 13.37 mi (30:32 / mi) +1039m 24:35 / mi

Our first bear encounter! Woke up to find our packs had been dragged a little ways and my water bladder had a small puncture. The hole was near the top so we just used a little duct tape and it was fine. The two people staying in the lean-to nearby were pretty sloppy, so we blame them for attracting the bear in the first place.

The weather was perfect for hiking. Clear skies, temps in the 70's. Hiked from Calamity up to Marcy (the tallest high peak). Last time we were there it was in the clouds and really cold, so it was great to have nice weather this time! It was a little hazy, but the views were great. Had lunch on top and then moved on.

Hiked back down to the Four Corners and decided to do Skylight while we were there. More great views!

I think this is the best we've ever felt while hiking. We zoomed down, usually down/up takes about the same time, but this time down was quite a bit faster. I'll take it :)

Headed back to Calamity to pickup our backpacking gear before hiking out.

Hiking 1:50:45 [3] 4.23 mi (26:11 / mi)

Packed up our gear and hiked back out with full packs.
