Orienteering race 1:15:00 [4] 7.4 km (10:08 / km) +350m 8:12 / km

Kholo hills oy. Tried to run this fairly hard, and got reminded quickly that you don't get a choice at kholo. Not too much Lantana but got quite stuck in a couple of places. Crawled out of one spot. Nav was mostly fine except that i missed 16. Busy planning the next leg and ran right past. Would have been about 30 secs to duck of the track to get it. Oh well. Still good training.

10x 400m on 2 mins. Extra 30 secs after 6 cos my watch display went stupid. Slow but consistent. Focused on keeping cadence high at the end of each interval.

Running long 2:30:00 [3] 23.0 km (6:31 / km) +500m 5:53 / km

Long run along the northern side of wyaralong dam. Dan dropped me at the western end and drive around to the eastern end to ride the Mt Joyce trails. I wasn't sure exactly what i was in for as there were no distances on the trails. Estimated somewhere between 15 and 20. I found a distance marker a few km in which seemed to indicate that the whole thing would be 19. Felt good so decided to do a bit of a tempo effort. That was all ok until 18 km only got me to the camp ground with a new set of signs saying 7 km left. Legs were feeling pretty tired so the last bit was a plod to the end. Trail is nice. Undulating along the edge of the lake but no massive climbs. Lots of spiders, and very humid this morning.
