Orienteering race 1:23:03 [5] 8.0 km (10:23 / km) +360m 8:28 / km

OY at platypus cliffs at wivenhoe. tough day out with lots of hills, grass and spiders. a lot of the controls were quite easy, but getting between them wasn't. I took the high route choices on 5 and 11. I'm pretty sure it was the best on 5, but will have to check the splits on 11.

one of my mtb friends has decided she needs to learn how to navigate so she had her first o outing today. I found her half way round my course - still super cheerful despite losing her compass. gave her a quick lesson how to use the sun and sent her off in the right direction for her next control. seems like she had way more fun than most of us to day.

Note

definitely lost time on 11, but not sure how much was the wrong route choice, how much was from drifting on the wrong spur and how much due to stopping for some essential grass seed extraction.

Long run on Coottha with Clare and Mat. Great view from the top of Coottha with Brisbane covered in low cloud and only the tallest buildings peaking out from the sea of white.

braved the mayhem at germside to spend a voucher I won at work. got 2/3 of what I was after before my brain started to implode. I can't comprehend that people actually enjoy shopping.

10 x 400m on 2min on smt oval. in the dark as usual, and it was very dark tonight (really need to fix headlamp). tried to do the full set without an extra break, and managed, but things were getting a bit shabby on the last couple.
