Compass exercise at braeside. I'd set this as the same course as the moderate exercise, but they had the map and the compass exercise just had white. unfortunately the area is quite easy and I'd gone through the exercise with the moderate group just before I ran this and could remember a bit too much of the map to do this completely properly.

skins exercise at Braeside in a group with Rachel, Heather, Lil, Alison and Winnie. Good racing with an occasional glance at the map.
putting out controls at Cascades, then ran into one of the map walk groups, so walked with them for a while.

Long legs exercise on Cascades. Found a group of junior girls lost near 1, so stopped to talk to them for a while before continuing. had a bit of a wander exiting 3 because of the green, but eventually got back on track. very nice to be out, and very happy that all the controls landed in the right places!

contour only exercise. turns out mapping the rock just makes things harder!

star relay. our team got off to a shaky start but things improved and we only came last by 1 loop. good race between the de Jong and burrill super teams vs mark and winnie.
approximate time. sprint training at roma st. good course with lots of route choice, but I struggled at the start to be bothered to look at the map often enough. eventually convinced myself that it would be worthwhile. legs were useless, particularly on the hills of the first loop. no warm up didn't help.
Rachel passed be on both parts of the course. straight running speed the first time and route choice the second.
dsq as I managed to run through an oval marked oob on the map. I seem to have a particular blindness to pointless artificial oob areas - just don't register at all.
