old hidden vale. not as grassy as it has been, but heaps of lantana (and enormous spiders), to make up for it. very hilly course, and the main aim for today was to keep running through all the crap. mostly successful, except for a section at the SW corner where the combination of very long grass, steep slope and hidden fallen timber made it a bit to dangerous. also recon the map is dodgy there (can never figure it out), and this time lost 7mins. felt ok running in terrain, and finally feel like I'm getting some fitness back.
first run in new inov8s. love them!

long run from Rachel's place at the gap. ran mostly by myself cos I was too slow to run with the fast group (guys + rachel). moggil rd, 3 sisters, simpsons falls, telstra, ch9, gap creek picnic area, boscome rd, sth boundary. took a little longer than I expected, but pretty happy with how my legs were going, and that my itb didn't go crazy on me (feldene gel is my new best friend - thanks Jenny!).

Orienteering race 17:16 [4] 2.5 km (6:54 / km)

sprint race at St Peters. very tricky area, not helped by the map being wrong in a few places. at least I had the advantage of knowing where/how the map was wrong as it was my old school. lots of stairs which tested out tired legs!

didn't take enough for lunch today, so hungry brain detoured via the refect on the way home and made an unfortunate pre-training food selection... which then spent most of the run making unsuccessful bids for freedom. most unpleasant. legs felt good though.

Orienteering intervals 22:00 [4]

O intervals at UQ. I set some short loops that started and finished in the great court, and ran as a pair against your partner who ran the loop in the opposite direction. did 4 of these - first 3 were good, but hit the wall in the last one (lollies for afternoon tea ran out in a big hurry). 5ish min ints were heaps harder than the 3ish ones we were doing a few weeks ago.

10 warm up, and 20 warm down jog to new house. I think its also about 20mins into the city, and 10 to anzac park, so well placed!

Note

moved to new house in toowong, and cleaned up at old house. new house has lots of chaos, and no power. that means cold showers and no coffee machine.
