Orienteering race 1:16:10 [4] *** 11.2 km (6:48 / km)
ahr:176 max:187 spiked:12/16c (sick)

OY at maryboro. ran the long course cos thats what I pre-entered, but it was a really bad idea. I had felt ok in the morning, but things started getting really messy half way round. made a really dumb mistake on the last control cos I was totally out of it. heart rate was way too high given that I was struggling to even run for most of the course. oh well. still finished 2nd - what was going on with everyone else!!
I think I should take it easy for a couple of days and make sure I get over this bug properly before easter.

Running warm up/down 10:00 [2]

Saturday Mar 24, 2007 #

Note
(sick) (rest day)

feeling pretty crappy, so decided to sleep in instead of running. managed a swim at noosa in the arvo. tough day.

Cycling 1:43:00 [3] 50.0 km (2:04 / km)

trolls. fast. really bad idea to ride today - felt like total shit. really hope I'm not getting sick... but everyone else is, so I don't like my chances.

Cycling 1:33:00 [3] 42.0 km (2:13 / km)

River loop with Dan and Lisa. Easy ride, but I was having a total suffer-fest this morning.

Gym 1:00:00 [5]

training at race elements with Imo. Simon is an evil slave driver. I'm in so much pain.

Cycling 1:42:00 [3] 50.0 km (2:02 / km)

Wednesday troll. stayed with the lead group the whole way - even over the hills, and didn't get dropped on the corso even tho the pace was mid 50s.

Running hills 27:00 [5] 6.0 km (4:30 / km) +210m 3:50 / km
ahr:174 max:183

Anzac park loop with Rachel. pb for that run by 2mins, but it felt easier than the last fast one which was 2 weeks ago. Julia started with us, but didn't make it past the second hill. Rachel ran really well and held on to the second last hill. world of pain.

Running warm up/down 6:00 [2] 1.0 km (6:00 / km)

warm down from hill run

Note

Climbing at Kangaroo Point. Was particularly unimpressive and kept falling off on really easy stuff. my arms just wouldn't work - maybe all the blood was still in my legs after that hill session.

Running 50:00 [3] 11.0 km (4:33 / km)
ahr:175 max:177

run down to the track and around uni before and after hills. starting to think that keeping up with the guys on their warm up and warm down runs is better training than the intervals!

Running 15:00 [5]
ahr:167 max:187

hills - 3 sets of 3 hills with long jog recoveries between sets. felt a bit flat and slow, especially on the second set. I was a bit surprised to get my heart rate that high, cos I hadn't been feeling to great all day.
