physio pilates. legs pretty wreaked by the end.

Sunday Aug 27, 2017 #

Orienteering race 26:57 [3] 4.6 km (5:52 / km)

NOL spriddle at Aranda. Fun course, and great format for the area. (I think our course was probably the best use of the area - the guys seemed to get a bit more dead running). No legs today and very little nav brain.
Cold running today, and very happy to run before the weather turned completely awful.

Orienteering race 2:31:12 [4] 12.5 km (12:06 / km) +800m 9:10 / km

NOL ultralong. this was going to be a big day out and I knew I was totally underprepared. Figured I'd just cruise around at a comfortable pace and hope that got me close enough to the finish before the suffering kicked in.
The first half was good. Got dropped by Tash and Bun after 3 controls, but then somehow ended up ahead of them, but they ran away again.
Had a bit of trouble getting stuck in the cliffs on the control after the second common control, and was getting pretty tired at the end of the first loop.
The second loop was a bit of a dodgy start. lost heaps of time on 2, and a bit more on 3. got my act together after that, but still had a bit of trouble in a few more circles. adductors started cramping on the climb up to the first pivot - had two gels then. calves and adductors continued to complain to the finish, but first proper cramp hit in the finish chute.
Very tired at the finish, but made it around better than expected.

Cycling 1:15:00 [3] 34.0 km (2:12 / km)

River loop. tired. sore legs. got rained on. not really sure that it was worth waking up early for.

Running 48:00 [3]

city run. hammies pretty sore and it was very ploddy. new shoes got a bit tight in the toe box and gave me pins and needles in the balls of my feet, so had to walk to get the circulation back a few times on the way home.

Tuesday Aug 22, 2017 #

pilates 1:00:00 [1]

physio pilates. got some hard exercises added to my program. hammies got a big workout.

Orienteering race 1:10:00 [4] 7.0 km (10:00 / km) +300m 8:14 / km

OY at Goolman. Juliana did a great job with the courses - some good route choice needed to avoid big climbs, and plenty of tricky legs across slopes.
Felt rubbish trying to run today. I think I got quite dehydrated yesterday and didn't sleep well last night. piriformis thing is being grumpy again.

Note

I've been doing some stretches and pilates over the last few days, but not enough to deserve a training entry.

Sunday Aug 13, 2017 #

Cycling long 2:54:00 [3] 70.0 km (2:29 / km) +1600m 2:14 / km

Nebo ride with Rachel. Definitely the longest road rode I've done in ages, and the first time I've taken my new bike on a proper hilly outing. Luckily Rachel was tired and didn't tear my legs off. Bike climbs really well considering it's slow and unfit passenger. Now time for nap.

Orienteering race 1:10:49 [4] 7.9 km (8:58 / km)

OY at daisy hill. the map has been updated and the course was quite good, so this was heaps better than previous runs here. running was pretty good, but you had to pick your lines. Nav generally good, but ran out of legs about 3/4 of the way around, although that's still progress. 10mins behind Kryso though... can't even comprehend running at that speed at the moment.

Running warm up/down 25:00 [2]

warm up, run to the start etc.

pilates 30:00 [1]

stretching and exercises. needed to do more, but also needed to go to sleep.

Saturday Aug 5, 2017 #
