token effort. injury has improved a lot, so motivation to do heaps of home exercises has decreased.... although I know I'll suffer if I don't keep going.

Orienteering race 45:31 [5] 6.5 km (7:00 / km)

ran the schools champs senior boys course after spending all morning working at the schools champs. I queue jumped past kryso at the start, but I knew she'd be on my tail. she caught me 2 mins about 1/3 of the way around, but then we ran together for a while - she was faster but I was a bit cleaner/luckier on a couple which kept me in contact for a while. then she pulled away on a long hill leg. good to have kryso there - made it a worthwhile training session instead of just a plod.
it was a very busy morning and I hadn't had any food, and very little water since about 5.30. body not happy.

Orienteering race 1:00:49 [5] 9.1 km (6:41 / km)

OY at Wivenhoe - Moioo Bay. Nice area, and faster than my legs were capable of going. Good courses and no real time lost, except that I really struggled running after about 45mins.
grass wasn't too thick, but the grass seeds were pretty bad. socks went in the bin.

Orienteering race 34:45 [5] 3.6 km (9:39 / km)

Qld middle champs at wivenhoe common. a re-map has improved this area a lot, and it's a great little area for a middle with some steep rocky hills. I started 2mins in front of swiss import Isabelle and 4 in front of Laurina, so main goal was to make it as far around as possible before getting passed. It was also the first O race where I've tried to run fast since wmoc.
Made it about half way before Isabelle got me, but stayed ahead of laurina. tough running and really struggled physically. only one real mistake where I overshot a control and lost 40secs slogging back up a hill.

River loop. cold (brisbane cold) morning. got passed early on by an enthusiastic but not quick bunch. rather than playing the passing game we just sat on the back, so a nice easy roll. good for my tired legs, but Dan was complaining that he wasn't riding hard enough to keep warm.

Nice coffee afterwards - the sun managed to find a gap between some buildings and warm our spot up.

Run into the city along coro. A bit further this time, and a bit faster. about 20mins at tempo pace on the way home. nice to be able to run a bit faster.

Cruisey ride at tewantin with Dan and his parents. Nice morning out, much better than brisbane. Quite happy to not be racing again today.

Cycling race 46:00 [5]

National series cyclocross. I wasn't silly enough to race elite but it turned out all the women's classes started together so we were all in the same race anyway. Pace was hot from the start and it took a while to get the single speed wound up. Picked off a few riders through the race, got passed by one and lapped by the top 3 who were flying. Course was tough but fun.
I was first of one in my class. I managed to beat a couple of elites but was also beaten by a couple of older masters riders. Great to race in such a strong women's field.

a couple of long work days have caused my back/glute/hammy to seize up which has been quite painful. did a few stretches before I started, and most of the run was ok, until the last 10 mins which was a stagger home.

Camp champs event at Bluestone South. Good courses, but tough going. did a bit much yesterday and struggled on the hills. Managed to get around a course at bluestone without a major parallel error which might be a first.

Club event at kholo. Nice day out, the massive hills are much easier to cope with on a cool day. The course setting was pretty meh, and three controls were in the wrong place. Guessed the wrong direction each time.
Starting to get some hill strength back. Fitness is still absent.
