Lame walk-jog to fix lame injury 25:00 [2]

Alternating jog and walk trying to make sure i had proper glute activation. Seemed to go ok but was struggling by the end. The running was a bit wonky.

Orienteering 1:05:27 [3] 5.9 km (11:06 / km) +205m 9:27 / km

Quinzeh Creek OY. My concession to the instructions from the physio to ease back into walk-jog was to do the H2 instead of the H1 (which would be the first time at an OY in about 15yrs). Good course and nice area. its a bit scrappy, but most stuff is pretty easy to push through. Just had an easy run and walked the hills. glute was annoying, but not really painful.
got close to catching brenton a couple of times, but he was working pretty hard to stay ahead. The second time he said "you'll never catch me" as he ran off into the green. turns out he meant "you'll never see me again". he eventually re-appeared a while after I finished.

made the most of our trip into bogan heartland by visiting the yatala pie shop for lunch. I had the 'tradie' - steak, bacon, egg, tomato and cheese, with mashed potato. it was awesome.

ride to Roma st and back, return trip with Wendy.

Orienteering 20:00 [3]

World orienteering day course at Roma St, with the map run app. App worked ok, although you don't have to get super close to the feature (so didn't have to run through the sprinkers at one control. Legs were rubbish and took a while to warm up,hammy pain has moved to glute, so just jogged around. stupid injury.

River loop with Dan. it was meant to be Dan's work group loop, and he promised that they were slow enough for me to keep up. They all bailed, so it was just me doing a not very good job of keeping up with Dan.

first session of physio pilates. going through the program teaching me how to do all the exercises. turns out I'm a bit spesh and couldn't do half the stuff (or it pissed off one of my injuries), so got easier versions.

Orienteering 1:14:00 [3] 6.6 km (11:13 / km) +185m 9:50 / km

Bluestone north. been years since I've run there and they've planted trees on most of the lower slopes. these were still pretty weedy and overgrown, but the steeper stuff was nice. otherwise there was plenty of little access tracks so you could weave through the green.
hammy was a bit sore again, so took it easy running, especially on the hills.

Note

I'm starting a program of physio supervised pilates to try and correct some of the biomechanical issues that are causing all my injuries. This was the first session - the physio screening. Next week I get my program.

The physio also had a quick look at my knee - apparently its my quad being over-tight and causing my patella to sit too high. Homework is lots of quad releasing.

this last week of cycling but no running seems to have improved my L sciatic/hammy injury - at the moment I can only feel it when stretching. But... the R knee bursitis I was having issues with a year ago has returned in spectacular style - very puffy and painful. I guess running training is still a way off.

Hot yoga. Stretching is no longer limited by hammy injury, although the neurofen I've been taking for my knee probably helped. Noticeably weaker on left side.

Dirt nebo with Clare. Both of us were a bit concerned about how we'd go so we rode a bit ready to start with. Good strategy as there was plenty in the legs for the trip home and some single track on the way back through gap creek. Great morning out, and breakfast at cafe leung was awesome as always.

mtb ride at Daisy with Dan and Col. Cycling form has deserted me, and I didn't find it hiding around any corners at daisy. still a fun ride.

River loop with Dan and Clare. nice morning to be out - just cool enough for undershirt, but not cold enough for arms or gillet. legs have forgotten about cycling - uncooperative stumps. oh well.
coffee at the kombi was nice, especially after the sun came up.
