Orienteering 3:07:00 [1]

Tagging control sites at Kholo Hills with Alison, for the OY in 2 weeks time. The area is pretty runnable at the moment, with the lantana and grass having died back with the recent dry weather. Courses have been set for interesting route choice and avoiding the worst of the hills. I think Alison has done a great job with the course setting and I hope everyone enjoys them in 2 weeks time.

Skiing intervals 7:00:00 [2]

Last day skiing. Very windy early, but ended up being a fine day. Had a few goes at a different (and much steeper) black run, but it was crash-tastic, so after 3 attempts I stuck to what I knew I could do and skied the fun stuff fast(er). 9650 m for the day.

Skiing intervals 7:00:00 [2]

Sunny day at Coronet. Tired legs to start with, but got going after a couple of runs. Even survived my first black run without thinking I was going to die. Dan has given up on me keeping up. 9222 m for the day.

Skiing intervals 6:00:00 [2]

Another day at Coronet. Low vis to start with, but some new snow and cleared up during the day. The afternoon was quite warm and the snow started melting and getting quite heavy. 6700 m for the day.

Skiing 6:00:00 [2]

At Coronet Peak today. It was snowing when we woke up this morning, and chains were definitely required on the road. We had a bit of a false start when we found that one of the chains in the rental car was broken. Eventually got up the hill after an extra trip back to Queenstown.

Mixed day - it was snowing on and off all day and visibility ranged from good to nothing. then in the afternoon the cloud came in and they turned on the snow making machines which made conditions tricky. ended up doing just over 5km vertically for the day.

Skiing intervals 6:00:00 [2]

Skiing at the Remarkables, with Dan. First time skiing in 6 years, so we were a bit concerned that we would be completely useless.
We started with a couple of laps in the beginner area, and it wasn't terrible so we headed up the lifts. Back on blue runs before lunch, so all good.
There wasn't anywhere near as much snow as last time we were here, but still plenty for us, and the new lift at the Remarkables has added a nice long run.

Running 37:00 [4]

Run in Anzac park with Mark. easy run for Mark but tough outing for me trying to keep up and maintain conversation with my current level of fitness. a lot of discussion re snow conditions around Queenstown before our skiing holiday next week.

Note
(injured)

finally made it to the physio to try and get this foot thing sorted. physio reckons its an irritation of the tendon insertion, caused by my crappy running form. ankle joint has good range of movement, but is very stiff. she did lots of work to get rid of the stiffness in the joint, pressure point stuff in the arch and dry needling in tib ant. also showed me how to tape it to take some of the pressure off. hopefully all these things help.

Running 38:00 [3]

Somehow found some motivation to go for a run in the dark from the motel in Wondai. Pretty boring along the main road but then found an empty side road which was nice just to cruise along. 3 runs in a row, weird.

Running 45:00 [3]

Another plod around Anzac park. a little sore from the chinups yesterday, and felt a bit tired, but not as bad as yesterday.

Running 42:00 [3]

plod around Anzac park. Felt terrible which was no surprise given recent lack of training, but got around ok in the end. foot wasn't happy, but didn't flare up too badly.
stopped at the chinup bar and managed 4.5, then some pushups when I got home.

Running 1:11:00 [3]

Plod with Clare from my place. I really sucked. right foot still quite sore and left hammy insertion complained the whole way. foot extra sore now that I've finished. oh well, at least it's a good excuse to go to the cafe.

At the spin doc, with Joe, and another new girl. Still a really tough class, but much easier than last week just knowing what I was in for.
