ride around most of the single tracks at gap creek with Dan and Helen. nice cruisy ride, but was still really tired at the end. single track was apparently closed, but rain damage was minimal.

physio report - tendon that goes under the side of my foot is putting too much pressure on the cuboid bone, and jamming everything up. done a bit of work releasing it, and says it should be better in a couple of days (hopefully). yay!

fark. mt nebo on the dirt, with dan, steve and connie. I was off the back from the start, and was in a world of hurt the whole way.
ran into a few bunches of riders still going up on the way back down, including clive. started to cramp at the end, and had to walk the 3 sisters. made it home without completely cracking.
eggs on toast with vegemite at home, and iced coffee. first time I've ever eaten vegemite by choice. must have been salt deficient.
off to mat's pool party soon. I'll be the one passed out in the corner.

rowing warmup, heaps of arms and core work - major pain. more rowing and stretching warmdown. pretty crowded today as the uni gym is closed so all the freaks had invaded my little gym.
awesome salmon pizza after.

mtb with dan, matt, steve, connie and some other guy. from matts place in albany creek, through bunya and ironbark, up camp mt and back. managed to nearly keep up with the guys, which pretty much killed me. the rest did a few extra single tracks in bunya on the way home, but all the rain has washed out the single track so its pretty crap to ride, and I was so stuffed I was cross-eyed, so I took the direct route back and jumped in the pool. training - tick!

gym. mainly arms and core work. killer exercise for the day was pushups with feet on a medicine ball.
wasn't feeling too flash, but I think it was due to spending all day in the office with no power - turned into a bit of a sauna!
rode home from work via a bit of an interesting route - over both the kurilpa and gobetween bridges. coro drive is open again, but the bike path is still shut. its at least mostly out of the water now, so hopefully soon!

headed out for a long run with the group, but foot was a bit niggly so took the bike instead. went for a ride with mark to try and check out gardens point as we've got an event scheduled there next weekend. tried to go via st lucia and the green bridge, but st lucia is a total disaster area (so much mud, and mud-stink!), and the uni is closed off, so no access to the bridge. had a ride around the glasshouses where I used to work, and they went completely under. feel really sorry for the people at uni who had experiments going.
then we went back to toowong and headed into the city via coro drive. its open in bound, but only one lane outbound cos the river has cut into the bank and its subsiding. there were cracks in the bitumen all the way along. got into the city ok, but then the gardens and qut were all closed off. didn't look like too much damage in the gardens, but the lower walkways were still under water, and there was a fair bit of mud in the surrounding sts. big pumps going to get rid of water in all the basements. back to toowong for coffee and muffin at sol bakery

shoes: Vibram 5 fingers - speed

long run from my place with Mark, Mat and Ian. the 'afternoon loop' - anzac park, mt coottha via bobs, then frosties to chapel hill and back via anzac park. didn't get rained on, but it was really humid, and water everywhere.
shoes were generally ok, but feet started hurting running back through anzac park at the end.

hill tt at anzac park. ran with Dan and Mark, they didn't know where to go, so they kept having to wait for directions, and I wasn't so quick today. very heavy track today - been pissing with rain all day (but didn't actually rain too much on us), but the grass was really soggy, and the creek crossings very full - the first nearly knee deep. felt pretty slow, but time was ok (for this time of the year).

run to and from anzac park with Dan. got some helpful training advice from Dan on the way home... apparently I need to run up the hills faster.

night run on coottha. this time from mark's. some trails through chapel hill to get to frosties. up frosties (ran it all - nearly killed me!) then checked out the lookout, which was really crowded - a bit different to the usual number up there on a saturday morning. then down the track with the stairs to chapel hill again (honeyeater? I can never remember the official names for the tracks). ran in the 5fingers again. really good, except hit a few rocks a bit hard running downhill, and my feet started to hurt a bit in the last 5 mins on the concrete, so was seeking out patches of grass on the footpath.
