run home from work. a bit quicker now that I've figured out the best way, and how to avoid waiting too long at some of the lights. I'll have to figure out some add-ons. would be good to have an hour option.

long run from tamsins new place in toowong. run through anzac park and the cemetery, across to slaughter falls (where we got yelled at by a fat rent-a-cop who objected to us going through the road block. richie engaged him in some polite conversation as we ran past). detour up toilet block to get away from rent-a-cop who was threatening to call the cops or something, telstra, and then another track down to the gold mine. round to the lookout and down the dream. some cartwheels on the bridge for biddy, and struggled back to tamsins. feeling really flat - really tired from work this week and no pre-run breakfast (had decided I wasn't running, then after getting woken up by ride cancelling messages and run bailing messages I decided I may as well cos I was awake anyway).
great breakfast at tamsin and richies new house!

Note

more oringen - does anyone know of any non-camping accommodation that might have some spare room. at risk of sounding prissy, I don't really want to end up camping in the rain 2 weeks before woc.

Orienteering 1:40:28 [4] 12.3 km (8:10 / km)

badge event at dalmoak. ran m21. nice course, great area, but not a great run. I think I got distracted about how nice it was to run around in open forest with bits of rock, and kept overshooting controls. probably lost 30secs to 1min on 1/2 of the controls. ah well. running was generally not great - felt ok just cruising along, but going any faster wasn't an option. last 15 mins was a bit hard also. legs and brain had definitely had enough. nice day out.

Orienteering race 1:47:06 [5] 10.0 km (10:43 / km)

woc trial long at belanglo. epic. middle distance style course that just sent us through the crap over and over again. would have been nice to break it up a bit more with some nicer running! had some issues with 4 cos I didn't see the feature on the very crappily printed map, and then lost about 5mins on 8 which was in the wrong place. the rest was just epic, and way too long. really not a good enough event for a woc trial!

Orienteering race 16:00 [5]

woc trial sprint. not sure of exact time - nsw are f-ing hopeless at putting results up.
had a good run - no mistakes, but just couldn't run fast enough. the plastic the map was printed on was really shit.

Orienteering race 39:31 [5]

woc trial middle. really cool area, and good course. managed to get around without any major mistakes, but was probably a bit hesitant on most controls, and didn't really have the intensity for a great time.

easy run into the city. threw in a few surges to try and wake the legs up after their extended period of inactivity. didn't feel so great. trying to be optimistic about the weekend...

Orienteering intervals 1:15:00 [3]

orienteering intervals at toohey forest, set by wendy. nice to be out in daylight for a change, but some of the forest wasn't so great to run in, and barely got above a walk for parts of it. and had some issues with the was the rock was mapped in parts. good to get out and do something, but the legs still felt pretty crap.

Orienteering intervals 50:00 [4]

night orienteering intervals at banks st reserve. set by lorenzo. 6 ints, collected controls on the last one. had a few extended stops in the middle of a couple of intervals when I lost the plot a bit - sometimes my fault, sometimes the map. tried to keep the gaps between ints short. tried to run them pretty hard, but found that most of the time speed was limited by ability to get through the forest rather than fitness.

Running long 1:50:00 [3]

run from the campground near Imbil up a fire road into the forest. first part was through awesome mature pine forest, and then the track went UP! climbed for 40 mins before I turned around. saw a couple of 4wds near the top, who were a little bemused at my presence. run home was quicker, but I think I'm going to pay for it in the next few days - a lot of steep downhill.
