OY at Kings state forest near gympie. new area with some interesting sandstone, and a very cool arena paddock with rocks and fig trees for the last few controls. thick in places, but we had some track runs to get around a lot. tough day out.

Note

Massage to try and sort my back/neck out. Lots of cupping so now I look like I've been attacked by an octopus. Seemed to help, most of back now feels heaps better, but the knot in my shoulder is still a bit angry.

Orienteering race 1:07:58 [5] 8.1 km (8:23 / km)

A-NZ test. Long at Hedley dunes. this felt heaps better. actually able to read ahead and interpret contours instead of figuring it out once I got there. still too many mistakes, but happy with the improvement. nice weekend.

Running warm up/down 30:00 [2]

Orienteering 1:07:42 [3] 7.0 km (9:40 / km)

A-NZ. Long race on hedley dunes. Another great area. generally a better run, but threw away too much time in too many places, particularly when I got distracted as people caught me. Better than yesterday, but the terrain was a bit more straight forward as well.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Orienteering race 39:00 [5] 3.4 km (11:28 / km)

A-NZ test. Middle race 1 at Rototoa. All over the place on this run. first 5 splits were - 1, mistake, 1, 1, mistake.... and it didn't really settle down from there. awesome terrain, but wasn't getting my head into it in the low vis vague stuff.

Orienteering race 37:02 [5] 4.0 km (9:16 / km)

A-NZ test. chasing start middle at Rototoa. Started in a big group which was fun and chaotic, but got lazy and decided to go with Krystal as she launched off on a dodgy bearing. somehow got back with the group on the next control, but then we hit a few long running legs and I was out of it.
Good to up the pace a bit, but nav was still a fail.
