Running race 23:49 [5] 5.0 km (4:46 / km)

Rocks parkrun. about as expected, which wasn't much given the way my training has been going the last couple of weeks. at least it wasn't slower. if it wasn't for it being tt day I would have definitely stayed in bed.
not hot, but crazy humid this morning. felt like I got a bit further this time before I massively overheated (about 3k rather than 1.5), but I think this was more because I'd already slowed down. pacing was a little better than last time.

Good to see plenty of the juniors out this morning. Cracking run by Mikaela - 20:55.

Orienteering race 22:15 [5] 4.0 km (5:34 / km)

Cyclones sprint at robelle. Interesting course with a few good route choice legs, particularly as the creek through the middle was flooded. A bit slow to make decisions and got really tired at the end. Left hip also a bit stiff.
Got through the whole event before it started raining again.

James managed to miss a control on his own course.

back and neck have been tightening up heaps over the last few weeks, so I finally got around to getting a massage. heaps better but still not fixed. another appointment next week.

Orienteering 16:00 [4]

Cyclones sprint at Ferny Grove primary, in two parts. got the first part well, but miss read a couple of controls in the second part. felt good running, but not fit enough to sustain the pace.

token warm up and warm down. proper warm up got ditched in favour of babysitting Sam. passed him to Caroline for some cuddles and just after she commented that he was a perfect baby he shat all over her.

City run with some tempo efforts. Felt strong running but it was super humid so overheated pretty badly. A bit like running in sweat soup.

Riverside rocks parkrun. Realised that in a few weeks time I am going to have to run 'fast' 4 times in a weekend, and its been a while since I've run hard at all.
Optimistically started behind the 2230 pacer, but didn't take long before I started overheating and slowing down.

there would have been a few hundred people at this parkrun, but it was well organised and everyone started near the spot for their goal time, so the start wasn't a total shit fight.

Not sure whether this course or Ashgrove is faster. both pretty flat, ran 10sec faster at ashgrove late last year, but on a much cooler morning.

ride out to Riverside rocks for parkrun. bit slow on the hills on the way home.

Orienteering 15:25 [4]

Sprint o at centenary high. Nice course set by caroline but my o skills were very rusty. Legs not as slow as expected, mainly cos my nav was holding things up.

Control collection and warm up. A storm rolled in and we got rained on.

If watching cycling counted this would have been a great training weekend - Aus track nats (actually trekked across town to watch live), herald sun tour and some cyclocross wc.

Long run with Rachel and Wendy. Lovely cool morning. Felt good running and trying to keep up with Rachel always makes me go quicker. Put in a bit of a tempo effort on the chapel hills trails and suffered at the end.
