Tough test for my ankle but it came through pretty well. I had trouble staying with the group when we had a downhill section - the youngsters were comfortable going much faster downhill than me. Got left behind at one point and was then in a bit of a quandary - to try to race after them and catch them up, but risk missing them, or relocate so that I knew exactly where I was and then try to get back to the route ahead of them, which is what I did. Happily I found them again and completed the route :)

Maroc Long Run. Nice morning again for a romp down along by the Dee in an area that I'd never been to before. A nice, quiet spot with a couple of islands. Back via the Deeside Way and then around the hill at Dess, which was quite hard work near the end.

Banchory Fun Run: Ankle felt vulnerable before the race, but didn't bother me during it. Had a good duel with RM through the first 3/4 of the race, and then RC came onto my shoulder with about 1km to go. We had a great battle to the line which I really enjoyed. 13 secs down on last year - which I lost on the 2nd half of the course, maybe when I went wrong turning off too early from the main road. It has given me confidence for the Lumphanan 10km in January that I ought to be able to match my time from last year.
