Scottish 5 Days - Day 5, Culbin
With Julie starting 2 minutes behind me I was fairly sure I'd be seeing her, but actually managed to be pretty clean until she caught me at 9. Ran the tiny leg to 10 together and then she was gone, and my technique fell apart a bit after that. Feeling pretty tired by this point in the week too.

Note

Somehow managed a 4th overall despite being 5/7/6/6/8, which I guess is nice validation of consistent technique despite being slower than everyone else around me in the results. Still technical improvements to be made though, so hopefully some more training on Czech tour will help with that before racing at PP in a couple of weeks.

wu + cd, wasn't particularly keen on doing a cd but met Fran who persuaded me.

Scottish 5 Days - Day 4, Culbin
A good start to the course, then a bit scrappy in the middle, wasted probably about 3 minutes at 7 just running without a plan and going pretty far off the line. It's too easy in sand dunes to get away with reading the big shapes for a bit and then I forget to look at compass when I need to.

Scottish 5 Days - Day 3, Roseisle
Enjoyed the course a lot more than Lossie - constant orienteering rather than loads of pointless path running. A few small wobbles in the circles but mostly fairly clean, not really going fast enough for any major wobbles, but also not fast enough to be focussed enough to be reading ahead and picture the circles properly.

A very lazy jog round the warm up map, and a bit of jogging with Alice post race

Scottish 5 Days - Day 2, Darnaway
Started well, pretty confident and good flow through the first half ish of controls although a few small misses if being very analytical. Didn’t think 16 was so terrible at the time but lost at least a couple of minutes due to exiting 15 badly and not being entirely sure where I was on the slope, and a several smaller time losses on 17, 22 and 24 as well. Had a good time though, enjoyable orienteering.
