Mad sprint to the start as I got the wrong bus and was late. Luckily they let me start! Totally knackered at the start though and the mean climb straight up to #!...
The novelty of catching a cable car to the start still hasn't totally worn off ;) even though the fog was so thick I could hardly see the seat infront!

Büdner Middle at Foppa, legendary map!
Pretty happy with this run, it was much intenser technically with the 1:7500 map and lots of downhill. I was running at the limit of control technically and mostly managed to keep it together though felt a bit rushed. Two errors in the circle at #7 (30sec) and #20 (90sec), short legs where I was just rushing too much and not taking that necessary extra second to have a certain approach.
Very rough running and sore terrain muscles at the end of it..

In hindsight I should have run the mens class this weekend to make the most of the great terrain, the W21 courses were very short in comparison to M21, especially considering that there are also classes for W middle and short..

Bündner OL shortened long on the slopes above Flims-Laax, where Swiss O week was in 2011! Beautiful alpine orienteering, but as usual quite tough running with heather etc (I'll forgive the heather though because of it's beautiful honey scented flowers!).

Quite happy with my run. I found all the controls pretty spot on, but sometimes lost map contact for up to 200 meters and just 'winged it' and somehow popped out exactly right (c2, 7, 14).. probably shouldn't rely on that technique though. Sometimes uncertain with RC, taking the direct routes and then starting to regret it (c8, 9, 14), although in the end they turned out to be the fastest routes, at least for me.

Overnight field trip to Griesgletscher. We had ridiculously heavy and awkward loads to carry, which seemed to reveal some new muscles in my bum.. Lots of walking all over the glacier, feel very privileged to be doing this for work!

Hot morning jog in Nice, felt like shit so bailed quite fast for the water. Such glorious water, the most incredible colour!!
