High alpine orienteering at Silberenalp, part of the 'Swiss O Days mountain OL experience' - events in really cool mountain locations with simple organisation (just 5 courses, print you own control descriptions, print you own map for the way to the start, cancelled if weather is bad). For this one we had to hike 5.5km to the arena and then back again after so it was a long but absolutely beautiful day out. The most fun I've had orienteering in ages, lovely terrain and landscape.

I chose the longest course and aimed to be efficient so as not to do too much unnecessary distance or climb, legs were already sore before I started from yesterday's run.. Technically pretty good except totally lost contact on the way to #4. Tried to map memorise and look ahead in the terrain as much as possible to be a bit faster in the rough terrain. Physically held up ok actually, walked some steep hills and literally crawled up in some places. On the downhills I felt invincible! Just so much fun :)

This is the start of my O season this year ;) In the next few months there are a lot of really cool alpine events, culminating with the world cup in Grindelwald which I want to do really well at.

Was the fastest(only) girl but pretty happy with my placing among the boys too, though 2mins faster would've been nice ;)

Hike to and from the event with Tobias. Man I was so knackered on the way back.

Lauren is visiting, so we spent the night up at Lidernenhutte and went for an amazing morning run in the surreal mountain landscape with clouds swirling about us. One of the most amazing experiences ever being up the top of Rossstock in thick cloud and then moments later in bursting sunshine above billowing clouds and mountain tops, and moments later again in cloud. Impressive cliffs which we couldn't see to the bottom of..
Freezing though didn't stay up there too long.. Felt shit unfit running up, but running down nice and so fun having Lauren to run and chat with :)
Distance and time a guess (GPS died) but >700m ascent and >1200 descent!!
