Swelling on leg much better and didn't cause me problems, so was able to run the Swiss long champs :) The tricky Jura terrain was a welcome change from the local 'mittellandwald', though it wasn't quite as tricky as I expected, with many easy to follow small paths.
Happy to have a 'clean' run, with good fine orienteering and spiked every control without stopping. However the longer legs were a bit frustrating - I kept losing direction and contact, often being inefficient ending up in slower patches of forest or not meeting tracks soon enough. Planning too vaguely, and needed to a bit more proactive with my rough nav, not so reactive.
Physically pushed hard though sometimes felt got slowed too much by the terrain (think I need to do some aggressive terrain running) and need to learn to run as hard alone as with others. In the last 15mins started feeling tired and a bit hungry..
Overall happy with myself and 'only' being 14mins behind Simone (20%) in a long. 17th seems disappointing but the reality is that there are many strong swiss girls who train very hard and I should be happy to see that they are within reach, only a few minutes from top 10. Also wouldn't say my preparation deserved a much better result.
