Running 59:00 intensity: (5:00 @2) + (34:00 @3) + (20:00 @4)
shoes: Saucony Cortana

In Buechberg with TSV group- needed the group motivation to get out in this weather... Long Fartlek mostly on hills (3, 3, 6, 2min) but I really struggled to go any faster, limited by my legs which felt so heavy and sad. Fell behind after 40mins and finished a bit easier but legs didn't feel any better. Tight from Thursdays training- hammies, quds and calves.

Intervals on the track with TSV group.
20min warm up with run throughs etc.
3x (400, 300, 200) with 2min rec and longer between sets. Mostly started a bit fast and was burning at the end but in general it felt good.
Times quite consistent about 1:24 1:00 0:38
18mins warm down
Calves tightening up a bit during the session.
Snow on the hills again! brrr...

Running tempo 1:06:00 intensity: (25:00 @3) + (30:00 @4) + (11:00 @5) 14.0 km (4:43 / km)
shoes: Saucony Cortana

TSV training, road loop with a few little hills here and there. Started with 40mins moderate pace (just able to talk) then cranked up the pace till the end (took a min break after the first hard 15mins because I felt like my heart jumped a few beats and took my breath away). Kept up with the group apart from the last 10mins which was good (though it was a much harder session for me than them!) and had Paul on the bike to keep me pushing till the end. Also nice to know the distance.
Calves, especially the right one, were getting tight and a bit painful in the last 10mins. Stretch and rest tomorrow then some speed on Thursday at the track.

orienteering race 1:04:00 intensity: (10:00 @3) + (45:00 @4) + (9:00 @5)

SwissAlpine orienteering, my favourite :) Galgener OL (my Clubs annual Event) in Hoch Ybrig. Wonderfully organised with a chairlift to the start, great course and varied technical terrain with the most amazing array of homemade food for afterwards (my job was on cake and coffee table). About 800 People came I think, including Tobias' brother who finished mens B in a very respectable time and is keen for more.
The Terrain was very physical- ground felt very swampy and lumpy with plenty to jump over. I felt terribly slow, legs especially tired on the hills and strength getting a bit wobbly on the steep downs, but it was a good reminder that hard races are hard for everyone and running cleanly is the most important. Surprised with a good win :)
