Note
(injured)

Didn't race the NOL mass start long. left ankle hurt a bit all night and although it felt ok to walk on, any slight twist in or out or walking on sideways slope causes sharpish pain and it was still swollen. Top of foot feels more sprained than the actual ankle.
Bummed not to race but absolutely no doubt that it would have been a very stupid decision to do a long race in terrain on it!
Iced a few times.

Strength 30:00 [1]

gotta get back into it

orienteering race 17:43 [5]
ahr:164 max:180 shoes: Nike lunar glide

First sprint race for the day. Kelvin Grove QUT campus
Mostly good except for one very frustrating control.
Started well and caught Jenny by 5, then got a bit over excited and ran to #8 without understanding the control placement (actually still dont understand it) I should have just seen that on the map there was only one way into the control (stairs around to the right) but got very confused with levels and carparks and stairwells, very hard to get the full picture from the map but i suppose it was my fault for not reading the relavent infor from the map first? Lost 1:40 ish.
Powered on from there and the rest was ok except slow to #13 navigating through paths to the left when on the footpath (very edge of map) or around to right would have been faster.
Twisted left ankle coming down stars to the finish control on the oval. Painful for a few steps and after but didnt swell up of hurt to walk.
7th 2:55 behind Rach who totally smashed every leg!

orienteering race 18:40 [5]
max:179 (injured) shoes: Nike lunar glide

Second sprint, chasing start. UQ St Lucia campus.
Fun technical course with added chasing start excitement, and nothing to loose for me after bad run in the morning ;)
Few misunderstandings with the map where I didnt see the purple underpass symbol through dark grey which lead to a few longer route choices. One spot I got one building ahead of myself causing momentary confusion. Happy to keep ahead of Aislinn towards the end. Was scared she might catch me so pushed really hard! Didn't run much with others though.
Taped ankle securely and it didn't bother me once racing though was quite a bit mroe painful and swollen after. Iced

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

10mins warm up for first race, 5mins warm down
5mins warm up for first race- ankle a bit sore running on slopes but seemed ok on flat if running cautiously..
Maybe shouldn't have run though as it was worse after.

orienteering race 48:16 [4] 5.4 km (8:56 / km)

Easter Day 3 Rosenthal Creek, lovely granite
Inconsistent run with one big blow out. On both #2 and #3 I approached the control well before losing confidence, seeing other controls and rushing off to them (lost 30sec and 1:20 respectively). Stupid, needed to allow my self to slow down coming into controls with confidence. Redeemed myself a bit on the longer legs to #5 and #6, going straight, running hard and picking features ahead and nailing both. Bit of a pack gathered behind me on the way to #7 which I rushed into and was unsure of in the control circle. Also rushed to #8 on compass but not careful and not reading the map enough, was too far right, going over the spur and taking too long to relocate than I should is small panic (most of pack got dragged into my error too..) Lost over 4mins here!! I seem to have problems when people are running behind me, feeling rushed etc, but at least I know for next time to be extra focused when there are other behind.
Ran the rest well to the finish. Jas and I were equal winners of the first leg and finish chute, woohoo!
5th, 2mins behind Grace
3rd for easter overall behind Grace and Sus. Unfortunate not to be able to defend easter title for 3rd year but very happy to be one of 2 southern arrows girls on the podium :) and to still come 3rd after long day debacle

Running warm up/down 5:00 [2]

maybe needed better warm up and focus
