Oceania Relay first leg- Badja
Never really love running first but volunteered to as it is good practice and I need to push myself more. Had great fun! Had Grace in sight and a bunch of girls around up to 4. Grace dropped us and I was unsure going down to 5, managed to stop just beside it and Rachel found it. Fun running with Rach and Kate, taking slightly different routes to each other but pushing each other. Rach was really strong and lead through a few and I was starting to hurt. Ran down to 8 well and got ahead to go out into the paddocks. A little high and uncertain on the one after the spectator run but otherwise ran the last loop clean and had to push hard with Rach stadily advancing. Handed over 2nd, 2mins behind Grace. Jo and Kathryn finished it off well for a win :)

Shin sore warming up and afterwards, and during the race making running feel a bit awkward... not great
Will rest off running till there is no pain.

Oceania long- Badja
Started cautiously as I had some trouble reading the map but ran well in the tough forest controls making no real mistakes. After the long leg the terrain got faster and I became a bit sloppy being a bit off with direction of a couple. At first I was a bit surprised to be so far behind (5+mins off Jo, who was awesome) but in hindsight I was not fast enough in the second half - I need to learn to push myself harder, especially as I ran it alone (and am a bit unfit after no specific training after WOC). Anyway happy to have a consistent run (no legs more than 1min behind fastest split) and end up 4th after some very fast girls :)
Also very happy tofinish a pretty consistant year with 2011 NOL win :)

Left shin really quite sore beore start. Managed to ignore it during race but sore warming down too.

Oceania Sprint- Badja
Bush sprints are fun! This was nice bush too with granite and varied vegetation and HEAPS of controls. Felt rather tired in the legs and never had the speed I feel like I normally do in the bush. Only real mistake I can remember was rushing from 4-5 and ending up high at a cliff in green rather than cliff in the open, but probably wavered a bit on others.
Equal 3rd with Jo, behind Grace and Lizzie

Probably didnt warm up enough because left shin was really bothering me (not a great reason considering I was about to race anyway) but didnt notice it too much once running. Also sore warming down.

Got a bit carried away with an MTB ride with Jess to welcome daylight savings (probably not ideal race preperation..) Rode up to our old faves along the Yarra- many tracks still muddy or washed out. Not quite as unco as I expected but a bit more of a chicken than I used to be. MTB seems to be all about confidence to keep up the momentum.
Delish dinner afterwards at Lentil as anything :)

Achilles felt fine, but shins (in particular the left one) were really sore. Stretched and iced after. Calves seem quite tight, massaged too, ouch.

wall push ups before and after run (20+20). good for stretching calves apparently...

To/from work. Achilles not as sore as yesterday and I was walking round outside most of the day. In genral I think my left calf is tight causing a few sore spots (shin, achilles, outside terrain muscles). Stretched
