Merri ck, Yarra to Kew, making the most of the few hills by going a bit harder. Lovely morning, felt ok. Got pretty hot with a backpack on. Legs generally felt good, a bit of stiffness on left side towards the end but not pain.

95mins MTB on the Yarra trails upstream of Kew, then 30mins back up Merri creek after a lunch break.
It's been a while since I was on the MTB and at first was a bit nervous, especially as my cleats were really stiff (till I stopped and cleaned out the old mud), and my twitchy steering almost put me in the river. But by the end was ripping it up old style!
Sherwood forest is my wonderland escape, today I found and sampled six varieties of wild plums and the grass and fennel was head high in places!

Lovely summer evening run upstream Merri ck (why have I always gone down stream, this was so nice!). Delicious smells of australian summer, each breath seemed to bring a new smell and old memory...
Felt good and had a decent pace for once. Motivation increasing, legs felt ok, smiles all round!
Discovered an outdoor velodrome- looks steeper than the ones I have been on though, and quite scary!

6-4-2 mins hard with 2mins between, on nice soft grass oval. felt good but not very fast. stiff behind left knee after 20mins again. tight itb/hamstring/bum. massage? have been stretching more.

hot, sweaty and smelly in the 40 degree room, first time back for a while...bought back memories. Just thinking about it I almost chickened out on the way there and it wasn't overly enjoyable but the challenge is good i think. I would like to do some normal yoga though, and enjoy it a bit more.
